Walking pilgrimage to the monastery of Lluc
Date: 02.08.2025-03.08.2025. Start at 23:00
Location: Palma – Lluc. Mallorca
The night between August 2nd and 3rd 2025, a traditional 51st walking pilgrimage to Lluc a Peu will take place — one of the most meaningful events in Mallorca. At first glance it’s a sporting event, but actually it symbolizes unity, remembrance and spirituality. Under the motto “Let’s march for those who are, for those who were, and for those who will be,” thousands of participants will march at night from Palma to the Sanctuary of Lluc to pay homage to the Black Madonna in the Tramuntana Mountains.
The route traditionally passes through Marratxi, Santa Maria, Consell, Binissalem, Lloseta, Selva and Inca. The distance is 48 km and takes about 8 to 13 hours to complete. The entire route runs along an asphalt road: part of the path is flat, part is an elevation into the mountains to a height of up to 800 m above sea level. At the intermediate points, tents with water and snacks have been set up, along with medical posts, and for those who want to finish the journey early, transportation has been organized.
In 2025 the pilgrimage is dedicated to Mallorca’s volunteers, who provided help during the DANA catastrophe in Valencia – as a tribute for their sacrifice and solidarity.
The registration is already open on the official Grup Güel website. It is recommended to register in advance to receive support along the way and to be included in the security and organization system. Lluc a peu isn’t just a route. It’s memory, emotions and hope. It’s a special feeling of connection to the island, when every step under the starlight is accompanied by thousands of people walking together.
Start — August 2nd 23:00 in Palma from the old Güel bar.
