Potato festival

Every year, from may into june, the town of Sa Pobla in Mallorca hosts a potato festival. Sa Pobla is famous for being the island’s main potato producer. The fair celebrates its local varieties and traditional mallorcan dishes.
The festival includes gastronomy fairs, where restaurants offer special potato dishes, farmer’s markets with local products and tryings. The festival is accompanied by exhibitions, where you can find out about the history of potato farming in Mallorca and different competitions, for example, for the best potato dish. Local farmers demonstrate innovative agricultural methods and craftsmen offer handmade gardening tools. In the evening, the town gets filled with music, theatre performances and traditional dancing.
