Gastronomic festival “Tastes of the bay”

“Tastes of the bay” festival is a new gastronomic event that will debut in Port Pollença on the north of Mallorca. The event is organised by Pollença’s town hall and is dedicated to tuna that represents an important part of the local cuisine. This fish is used to prepare traditional dishes such as tuna tartare and tuna salad.
Tuna played a major role in Mallorca’s economy in the past, the island even had a tradition to catch tuna with special nets and boats. And even though nowadays the commercial fishing of tuna is limited, local markets and restaurants still celebrate its day.
The festival also presents a great opportunity for local producers and chefs to demonstrate their best tuna dishes.
