Castellers de Mallorca

Castellers is an old Catalan tradition of building castles-fortresses out of people. They wear the same clothes, it can be a thick red or green shirt, black belt (faja), which tightly wraps the lower back, and white pants. The action itself symbolizes not only strength and agility, but also cohesion, support, mutual help. People gather at the base – piña. The teammates then climb up their backs and heads, putting their shoulders together. At this point, the participants must be one, so that the tower can stand tall.
