Variat Festival

Variat festival is the first food festival dedicated to the traditional balearic dish variat. The event will take place September 27 and 28 on the Pere Garau square (Plaça Pere Garau) in Palma.
The festival promises to become a real holiday of flavour where guests can taste different varieties of variat — a popular tapas assortment that includes croquettes, meat balls, calamari, potatoes and other traditional starters. Often all tapas are served in one dish.
The festival opens on Saturday evening (from 19:00 to midnight) and continues through Sunday (from 9:00 to 23:00).
The program features gastronomy halls with various dishes from bars and restaurants of the island and food trucks. The central stage will host events for guests.
The official opening ceremony with tastings and live music will take place on Saturday evening, and on Sunday the main day of the festival will feature family events, children’s activities, traditional music performances and parades, a vermouth party, a concert and a DJ set. And all this until the closing.
