The Day of the Balearic Islands

The Day of the Balearic Islands (Dia de les Illes Balears) is an official celebration of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, devoted to the adoption of a law in 1983 that consolidated their autonomous status within Spain.
On the 1st of March, on Balearic Islands Day, there will be many festive events in Mallorca.
In the Park del Mar, you can visit an exhibition of traditional boats (louts), recognized as cultural heritage.
In Ses Voltes, the Sea Museum organizes interactive activities about sailing and the sea.
In the area of Hort Del Rey there will be a fair where guests can get acquainted with the gastronomic traditions of the region.
In the Drassana square the association of fishermen representatives from Mallorca and Ibiza will take part in the holiday for the first time.
The Santa Catalina Square will host the association of booksellers, as well as a program of children’s activities.
In addition, the island will host parades, folk festivals, concerts, sports competitions and exhibitions, allowing people to get to know the history and culture of the Balearic Islands better.
