Artist José María Sicilia created an unusual piece of music for a 21st century artist as part of one of the ceremonies of the Catholic liturgy – Misa de Difuntos (“Service for the Deceased”). Lyrics by José María Sicilia, music by Jesús Rueda, David del Puerto and Javier Arias. The premiere will take place in Palma, at the Church of the Holy Cross. The service will be conducted by the Bishop of Mallorca. The chants will be performed by the Choir de Cambra from Catalonia and the Choir Escolania from the Monastery of Lluc (Mallorca).

The Escolanía de Lluc choir is a famous boy choir, founded in the 8th century it is one of the oldest in Europe and is traditionally composed of boys between the ages of 9 and 14. Many of the boys in the choir live and study at the monastery, devoting themselves to both music and studying.
