Saint Peter’s Feast
Date: 29.06.25
Location: Port Alcudia. Mallorca
Saint Peter’s feast in Alcudia is celebrated every year on June 29. Saint Peter was one of the closest apprentices of Jesus Christ and worked as a fisherman. He is considered the patron of people whose lives are connected with the sea. The main events on this day will be concentrated in the coastal part of the city – in the port of Alcudia.
One of the most fascinating events of the day is the marine parade. The statue of St. Peter is placed on one of the most beautifully decorated boats. Accompanied by a flotilla of other vessels decorated with flags and flowers, it sails past the participants of the festival. This represents respect towards the patron of fishermen and sailors.
On June 29, both in the port itself and in coastal villages and towns, residents organise “sardinatas” – offering guests coal grilled sardines.
In the evening, to finish off the celebration, there will be a grand firework display that will light up the night sky over the bay. After the fireworks, the streets will be filled with music and dancing, and residents and visitors of the city will continue to celebrate until late at night.
