Saint Patrick’s Day
Date: 17.03.25
Venue: Palma. Mallorca
St Patrick’s Day, which is celebrated annually on the 17th of March, is an important celebration of Irish culture and is widely celebrated around the world. In Mallorca, as in other parts of Spain, with a significant number of Irish emigrants and lovers of Irish culture, this day is also celebrated with enthusiasm.
Saint Patrick, according to the legend, with the help of a trialist – clover explained the main principle of the Christian faith: he showed the people of Ireland how God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit make up the trinity. Since then, the clover and its bright green colour have become integral symbols of Ireland. That is why the worshippers of Saint Patrick, out of respect for this saint on this day, dress in all green.
One of the most popular Irish pubs in Mallorca – Shamrock. On St Patrick’s Day, the pub will traditionally offer its visitors live music. Guests usually come to the party in green clothes and headwear. The main drinks of the evening are Irish beer, often dyed green, as well as whiskey and the famous Guinness. Popular food is Irish stew, potato dishes and soda bread.
