Llonget festival
Date: 27.04.25
Venue: Es Pillari. Mallorca
The festival is dedicated to the popular bun Llonget, whose history goes back to the France of the mid-twentieth century.
Llonget is a traditional bun that has long been loved by the people of Palma de Mallorca and the capital of Palma. It has an oval shape with a cut in the middle and a slightly crispy crust. At first glance, it seems that it is not cooked enough, but the secret of its crispy crust is baking for a short time at a very high temperature. These buns are often used for making sandwiches with different fillings, such as hamon, cheese, tortilla or salchichon.
In Palma there is even an unofficial nickname for its inhabitants – llongets, which is related to the popularity of these buns among locals.
The event is accompanied by performances of local musicians and street performances.
