The changing of the guard of honour at the Almudaina Palace in Palma is a traditional ceremony, attracting the attention of both the locals and tourists. Almudaina Palace is a former Arab fortress that later became a palace which served as the royal family’s residence in Mallorca for years. Today, the changing of the guard ceremony is held here every day, brought back to life in order to protect and popularise the historic heritage.
The show itself consists of ceremonial lining up of soldiers and their rearrangements. The soldiers are wearing the historical war uniform of the 18th. Drums and flutes add a special atmosphere to the event.
