Celebrations in honour of Saint Agueda

The Feast of St Agueda in Sencelles is one of the most traditional celebrations in Mallorca, combining history and fun for the whole family. Saint Agueda, the patron saint of the town, is honoured with various events. Highlights include a parade of decorated carriages, where the people of Sencelles show off their creativity, and a correfoco, a fiery drumming performance that fills the streets with excitement and adrenaline.
This celebration also has historical and religious roots, recalling the “miracle of rain” that took place on 5 February. According to legend, after a long drought, abundant rain fell on the city on this day, bringing grace to the inhabitants.
