Jubilee Year (or Holy Year) in the Catholic tradition is a special period of grace, repentance and renewal of one’s faith. During the Jubilee Year, religious believers who participate in certain church rites, prayers and pilgrimages are given the opportunity to receive full remission of sins (indulgence).
This year is announced by the Pope once every 25 years or by the decision of the Church, on special occasions.
The Solemn Eucharist will take place on Sunday, December 29, at 10:00 am, presided over by Bishop Sebastià Taltavul, in the island’s main cathedral, La Seu.
This event signifies the official start of the Jubilee Year, attracting many parishioners and pilgrims from all over the island and other regions.
