If you’re not coming to Saint Petersburg, Saint Petersburg is coming to you…
Don’t miss the opportunity to dive into the atmosphere of the mysterious Petersburg of the early 20th century, the epoch of the gradually fading Silver Age.
The “Voices from the banks of Neva” play is a reenactment of the memoirs of Irina Odoevtsteva, russian poetess and prose writer and her relationship with Nikolai Gumilev.
The action takes place in 1920-1921, on the backdrop of the Civil War and war communism. This epoch plays a tragic role in Gumilev’s fate and transfers the play from melodramatic plane into a discussion on the destinies of Russia and causes of immigration. That is the reason why the play is so important and relevant.
