Every year Palma gets ready for Christmas and New Year and it begins long before the actual holiday. This year, the city council will spend about 70 thousand euros on the celebration and decoration of the city. On the 23rd of November, the ceremonial ignition of the Christmas lights will take place on Plaza de la Reina. This colorful ceremony attracts many people. Apart from the lights, the city will be hosting various performances. The event will begin at 18:30 and end at 21:00.
