St. Francis fair
Date: 26.04.25-27.04.25
Location: Muro. Mallorca
St. Francis’ day is celebrated with a big annual fair in the town of Muro, Mallorca. It is one of the island’s oldest holidays that has been celebrated for over 300 years.
The event is dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, who has been the town’s patron since the early days. He was asked for protection and prosperity, health and peace.
Saint Francis is very close in spirit to the rural communities of the region: his love for nature, simplicity of life and respect for all living things still resonate deeply with the locals.
That’s why, in order to honour Saint Francis, the town organises a whole fair with cultural, farming and craftsmen traditions. It’s not only a tribute to the saint, but a way to pass on these traditions to future generations.
The fair offers its guests a wide range of events: craft fairs, concerts, street performances, traditional food tastings and entertainment for the whole family.
