Series of exhibitions “Landscapes of Joan Miró”

Date: 30.07.2025 – 08.02.2026

Location: Palma. Mallorca

The “Landscapes of Joan Miró” project is a cycle of four independent, connected by a theme, exhibitions, dedicated to the evolution of the artist’s work from 1916 to 1981 and his special connection to Mallorca. Many pieces were painted right on the island; they are his landscapes — mountains, sea, sky — that became an integral part of Miró’s art and appear in his works as a symbol of freedom and harmony.

Main exhibition spaces:

La Lonja (Palma): “Original Force”

From July 31, 2025 to February 8, 2026.

These bronze sculptures interact organically with the Gothic architecture of the Lonja. They reflect the symbolic, primordial and cosmic energy of Miró’s art.

Miró Foundation Mallorca: “Magic Spark”

From July 30, 2025 to January 11, 2026.

The exhibition offers an intimate look at Miró’s personal and artistic influences. Alongside his works, pieces by Picasso, Calder and Klee are on display.

Es Baluard Museum: “Drawing Between Things” From August 1, 2025 to November 9, 2025

The exhibition focuses on the radical breakaway from traditional painting: Miró’s more tactile, conceptual and poetic experiments.

Casal Solleric: “Color and its Shadow”

From August 1, 2025 to November 9, 2025.

The exhibition is dedicated to the relationship between painting and sculpture in Miró’s work, with an emphasis on his experimental sculptures of the 1960s.

Miró and Mallorca: eternal connection

All four exhibitions give a full picture of Miró’s artistic evolution and his dialogue with the nature of Mallorca.

Works presented at the exhibitions represent the inspiration that the artist found within the island’s nature – the light, silence, terrains that became his creative haven.

The project references Miró’s historical exhibition in Lonja that took place almost fifty years ago and highlights his role in Mallorca’s cultural life.

In addition to these four museums, the Museum of Mallorca joins with an exhibition dedicated to a historical series of works first shown at the Pelaires Gallery in 1973.

Four venues, same theme: Joan Miró’s view of art, the world and Mallorca.
