Saint Martin: a charity children’s holiday. 09.11.24

Location: Port Portals

Port Portals is celebrating the tenth edition of Saint Martin, a traditional European festival that gathers families with children to enjoy time together.

Saint Martin is a holiday in remembrance of Bishop Martin of Tours, one of the most revered saints in Catholicism.

The festival’s aim is to help raise funds for the Rana Foundation. The Rana Foundation is a non-commercial organization on the Balearic Islands, whose social mission is preventing child abuse.

To participate, register your child at the event stand (ages 4 and up). Take a game map and participate in the activities: lantern-making workshop, cookie-making workshop, listen to the story of San Martin and take a walk around San Martin. Then hand in the game map at the information stand. For each completed task, Puerto Portals will donate 3 euros to the Rana fund.

When the night falls, San Martin will appear on a horse and the little ones will look for him around the port, lighting up the darkness with lanterns. Afterwards, the organizers will treat everyone with delicious chocolate and cookies.
