Mozart’s Concert Symphonies performed by the Chamber Music Orchestra

Two symphonies by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will form the basis of Orquestra de cambra de Mallorca concert. The guests will be treated to a performance by special guest Joaquin Riquelme, violist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Together with violinist José Manuel Álvarez Lozada, they will perform one of Mozart’s most profound works – the Concert Symphony in E-flat K 364. It is unusual in its choice of solo musical instruments: it is extremely rare to find symphonies where the violin and viola perform solos. This symphony is also unusual in that the composer has specially encoded elements of mysterious Masonic symbolism in it.
At the concert it will be possible to listen to two symphonies by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and two small pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich for quartet in a version for string orchestra.
