“Miro, 1983“
Date: 21.03.24-31.12.25
Venue: Palma
In 1983, the Spanish artist Joan Miro, one of the greatest representatives of surrealism, ended his artistic activity at age 90. This year was the time to take stock of his distinguished career. In 1983, some of the last works of the artist were created, demonstrating the experimental approach and unique style of the author.
“Miro, 1983” is a unique exhibition that offers a special perspective on the artistic heritage of Joan Miro, which he left in the city of Palma. Thanks to the generosity of the artist and Pilar Juncosa, his wife, Miro’s works can be enjoyed in two artistic workshops: Taller Sert y Son Boter. Taller Sert was built by Miro’s close friend, architect Josep Louise Sert. This place became the artist’s main creative space. His second workshop is located in an old mansion that Miro bought in 1959. Over 7000 works are exhibited in these workshops. Among them are paintings, sculptures, sketches, household utensils and drawings.
