Holidays of King Jaime I
Date: 27.08.2025 – 07.09.2025
Location: Calvia. Mallorca
Holidays dedicated to King Jaime I are held every year in the town of Santa Ponsa in Mallorca (municipality of Calvia, Spain) as a festival. They are dedicated to a historical event – the landing of King Jaime I on the island in 1229, which marked the beginning of the Christian conquest of Mallorca. 2025 marks the 796th anniversary of this event, with celebrations taking place from August 27 to September 7.
The festival’s program will include colourful giant parades, theatrical reconstructions of battles between Moors and Christians, concerts, cultural events, a medieval fair, a fire night and public festivities. One of the most spectacular moments will be the naval reconstruction of the landing of Jaime I’s troops and the subsequent staging of the battle. Participants in historical costumes will fill the streets with a medieval atmosphere.
The festival will end with a colourful firework show.
