Holi Festival
Date: 05.08.2026
Location: Can Picafort. Mallorca
Holi is one of the world’s most joyful and colorful festivals. It originated from India and symbolises a victory of good over evil, as well as a celebration of life. However, this holiday is most famous as a festival of colours.
On the day of Holi people come out onto the streets and get sprinkled with multi-colored powder. It’s a time when everyone becomes equal – adults and children, friends and strangers. For a day, the world turns into a fairytale filled with joy, freedom and colour.
For Holi, people usually dress in white and it’s not a coincidence. White symbolises purity, freshness and equality. In addition there’s a practical reason: it is against a white background that colored powders look especially bright and impressive.
When you come wearing white, it’s like you become a blank slate, ready to accept all the colours of the festival – red, blue, green, yellow. Every colour has its own meaning: joy, love, energy, health. Gradually, clothes become a true work of art – unique and unmatched like the moment itself.
