Guitarricadelafuente (real name — Álvaro Lafuente Calvo) is a Spanish singer, guitarist and songwriter born in 1997 in the city of Benicassim of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. His stage name combines the diminutive form of the word for “guitar” in the Aragonese dialect (“guitarrica”) and part of his surname (“de la Fuente”), which emphasizes the artist’s connection to his roots and folklore.
Guitarricadelafuente’s music is a subtle fusion of Spanish and Latin American folk, flamenco, indie and modern urban influences. He became known for his home recordings, which he posted on Instagram and YouTube, often with just a guitar and a PlayStation microphone. His sincerity and unique style of performance attracted thousands of listeners, and the tracks quickly spread on social media.
Guitarricadelafuente sings in spanish, sometimes including phrases in catalan or english. His songs are filled with poetic imagery, references to traditional culture and modern experiences.
