The first Sunday of October, the village of Esporles, traditionally awaits guests for the sweets festival for the nineteenth time. On the main street, a long row of stalls with all kinds of pastries, cakes, buns, ensaimadas, tarts and other sweet foods of Mallorca (rubiols, crespels and coca) arje set up. For those who don’t eat sugar, skilled confectioners offer options with natural, fruit sweeteners. Usually, large families come to this festival, music is played, often it’s the Mallorcan cheremia (an instrument similar to the gaita). Everyone walks around and enjoys one of the most beautiful villages of the Sierra de Tramuntana, sweets and sunny autumn weather.
