“Discovering Spain: fantasies, variations and glosses” concert

Date: 28.01.25. Starts at 19:00

Venue: Palma. Mallorca

The concert “Discovering Spain: fantasies, variations and glosses*” with the participation of “Accademia del Piacere” and Fahmi Alqha is a musical event that will take viewers to Spain of the seventeenth century. “Accademia del Piacere” is one of the most brilliant European collectives in the field of historic Spanish music, explores improvisation and reproduces works by masters of the Renaissance and early Baroque. Fahmi Alqha is one of the leading contemporary vocalists and guitarists known for his interpretations of ancient music. The musicians, listening to the advice of the great speakers of that era, are able to transmit to the audience their lively and emotional perception of the music of the Spanish baroque.

*Glosses (from the Spanish word glosas) are musical decorations or improvised variations that were added to melodies in the Renaissance and Baroque. In the context of Spanish music, glosses were particularly appreciated for their sophistication and virtuosity.
