The traditional New Year’s celebration at Plaza de la Cort in Palma is a great option to welcome the new year.
In the main square in front of the city hall a scene is installed, where local bands and DJs create a festive atmosphere. Everything from Spanish traditional melodies to modern hits is played.
As the clock strikes midnight there’s a tradition to eat a grape with every clock chime and make a wish. In Spain this is believed to bring good luck in the new year.
Unlike loud parties in clubs, people gather on the central square with children in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
