“Only Yesterday”(Recuerdos del ayer) revolves around Taeko, a 27-year-old single woman working in Tokyo in 1982 who is taking a holiday in the countryside with her sister-in-law’s family. During her holiday, Taeko finds herself remembering her time as a schoolgirl. The film goes back and forth between those two moments with a lot of nostalgia and a beautiful landscape in the background in which Taeko carries out her flashbacks and tries to make some difficult decisions about her future.
Single screening on Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a talk with Laura Montero Plata, author of “The Invisible World of Hayao Miyazaki.”
