Almond milk fair (Fira de la Llet d’Ametla) is a traditional event celebrated in honour of the start of winter. This holiday is dedicated to the making of hot almond milk, a popular island drink, especially in the colder months.
The main drink is made from almond milk, sugar, cinnamon and sometimes lemon zest. It is served hot and is a great way to warm yourself up. Together with almond milk the guests are often offered sweets and baked goods, for example, ensaimadas. The visitors can see how the drink is made and even learn how to make it themselves.
